Happy MLK weekend

Your Dream Team

Who you choose to work with and hire can make or break your Homecare Company. It’s always important to hire slow and fire fast. I made a major hire and promoted a caregiver to office admin. It was a major transition for her and I didn't quite know what  I was doing at the time.

How did it go wrong? I had very high expectations and the caregiver hadn't been in a role that high ever. So it created a big frustration, the learning gap was to wide. I needed someone who could catch on and become an asset right away and move somethings off my plate.

After realizing I had made the wrong hire. I had a sitdown with the employee and she ended up asking for a demotion, leaving her $7 dollar raised behind.

What did I learn? When it comes to certain important roles to hire exactly what you need. Going the cheap route will leave you spending money and time. Pay for the help you actually need. Investing in the proper training programs, is a must.

A few tools I use to document my Standard Operating Procedures are as followed:

Google Drive (free) and systems like Notion (free) to save certain workflows.

A high level version of Employee manual is (Trainual) but the cost is a bit high for beginners.

I also love pandadoc for contracts and employee handbook/policy creation.  Use this link to start a free trial- https://pandadoc.partnerlinks.io/13k6y6rjgeo9

Finding the right fit will take time but it is worth the wait.
